Festival FAQs
- Where is the festival taking place?
The CIRCULAR REPUBLIC FESTIVAL takes place in the Munich Urban Colab again, located in the center of Munich, close to Leonrodplatz. Therefore, it is easily accessible by public transport. The nearest stops are:
- “Hochschule München (Lothstraße)” - Tram 20, 21
- “Leonrodplatz” - Tram 12, 20, 21 and bus 53
We recommend using a bike if possible. There are sufficient parking spots for bikes right outside the Colab. Munich also offers many rental bikes, such as the MVG bike.
If you participate in the festival online, you will receive a participation link in advance.
- How to check-in for the festival?
When arriving at the Munich Urban Colab, please enter through the event entrance (marked by our beachflags) and register there with your ticket code or name. You will receive your personalized badge and lanyard, which gives you access to the event space.
In case you have your own lanyard, you are welcome to bring it to the festival.

- Are there any accommodation offers for the festival stay in Munich?
There are many hotels close to the event site. To walk the talk, we highly recommend taking sustainability into consideration when selecting a suitable hotel. Here are some recommendations from our side:
- Leonardo Royal Hotel Munich Distance to Colab: 30 min by public transport, 20 min by bike.
- Leonardo Munich City Olympiapark Distance to Colab: 10min by foot, 5min by bike.
- Motel One Olympia-Gate Distance to Colab: 12min by public transport, 6 min by bike, 16min by foot.
- What's does this year's festival program look like?
You can find the detailed version of our this year's festival program, including all panel discussions, workshops and other program highlights, here.
- How circular is the festival itself?
We are making this event as climate-friendly as we can. Some of the actions we take are:
- We reduce printed posters, signs, and flyers to a minimum.
- We design beachflags, banners, lanyards and moderation cards neutral to enable reuse and to minimize waste.
- The food will be organic, saisonal and partly from rescued food and we will only use reusable or compostable dishes.
- We will prohibit give-aways and other single use items in the Start-up Area.
- We will use the lanyards from the last festival. Originally the lanyards are produced from SEAQUAL YARN, sourced from ocean plastic. SEAQUAL INITIATIVE collects ocean, beach, and river waste, recycling what they find. If you won't use the lanyard post-event, kindly return it to us at the entrance so we can use it again. You can also bring your own lanyard if wanted.
- We will use the beachflags and banners from the last festival.
- We will borrow all the plants that we use decoratively at the festival.
- Our team shirts are rented from re-shirt, who work with reversible print. We are able to save 175 000 liters of water and 700 kilos of carbon dioxide compared to buying new cotton t-shirts.
- You can fill your own bottle or the rented reusable cups with tap water or at our re-drink station.
- With a special event ticket we motivate people to travel by train.
- Our chairs are made from yogurt pots.
The external event agency ECENT GmbH, who focuses on implementing sustainability holistically into events, helped determine and implement these measures.
- How can I contribute to a circular #CRF25?
There are several ways you can contribute to a circular #CRF25. You can bring your own reusable water bottle, return your lanyard after the event, or choose to travel to the festival by bicycle or public transportation. Your engagement in these circular practices will even be scored, allowing you to assess your own circularity and see how you embody a circular visionary.
- Will there be media presence at this year's festival?
Different media partners, e.g. FOCUS Online Earth, will be present at the festival. We also have a photographer on site and you will get access to the pictures afterwards.
We greatly appreciate it if you share your impressions online and use the hashtag #CRF25. For promotional purposes we are also providing a Festival Mediakit for Start-ups and Corporates including a Style Guide as well as LinkedIn Post Captions.
